PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE

Bridget Kehm is an Associate in the firm’s Corporate and Not-for-Profit Practice Groups. Her practice is focused on counseling for-profit and not-for-profit organizations on general operational, transactional, governance and finance matters.  She advises not-for-profit organizations regarding their ongoing compliance with state and federal tax-exempt requirements. Additionally, she assists organizations with corporate structuring, including mergers, dissolutions, affiliations, and creation of subsidiaries.

Bridget Kehm provides counsel to a wide range of clients, including not-for-profit and tax exempt entities and health care providers.


Her experience includes the following:

  • Counseling for-profit and not-for-profit organizations on the general operational and governance matters

  • Advising not-for-profit organizations regarding their application for tax-exempt status, as well as ongoing compliance with state and federal tax-exempt requirements

  • Counseling health care providers on state and federal regulatory compliance matters, including, but not limited to, self-referral limitations and fraud and abuse issues

  • Assisting clients in the formation of entities, including not-for-profit corporations, limited liability companies, corporations, and other business entities

  • Advising and assisting clients on the certificate of need process with the New York Department of Health’s Public Health and Health Planning Council, including any applicable notice requirements for transfer of ownership

  • Advising and representing health care professionals in matters relating to corporate transactions, employment negotiations, and fraud and abuse obligations

  • Reviewing, drafting, and negotiating contracts, including, service agreements
