About Us

Pullano & Farrow was founded in 2013 with the vision of being a full-service law firm delivering top-quality legal services to clients locally, region-wide, and nationally. As former attorneys at “Big Law” firms in Western New York, the firm’s partners experienced firsthand how the structure of these firms prevented them from providing their clients with the best possible services in a cost-efficient manner. In founding P&F, their goal was to take the best attributes of these firms while shedding those practices that did not benefit clients. By putting clients first, they have been able to build long-lasting, beneficial relationships.

We have always prided ourselves on leading a team of highly skilled, motivated, and client-oriented individuals. We firmly believe that a team-oriented approach creates the best results for our clients. Depending on your needs, or on the intricacies of any particular matter, that may mean a variety of attorneys and legal staff may help with your case. In the seven years since its inception, P&F has grown to a make-up now of 16 attorneys, practicing in the areas of Corporate Law, Labor & Employment, Health Care, Trusts & Estates, and Litigation (commercial and personal). With well over 150 years of combined legal experience, P&F sits in a position well-suited to meet your every business and legal need.

Why P&F?

While attorneys at other law firms compete with each other over clients, we incentivize working together to assist our clients. We will never pass up the opportunity to utilize the institutional knowledge of the entire firm. This also has allowed all our attorneys to cultivate in-depth, focused knowledge instead of being generalists. At other firms, a corporate attorney might waste a client's time and money trying to learn real estate law, just to get a bonus for doing the work herself. Systems like that end up hurting clients – so we replaced those perverse incentives. Instead, we reward collaboration and efficiency. The result is a team of attorneys working together to produce the best possible outcomes for our clients.

Other law firms often use attorneys as salespeople, rewarding them purely for getting clients in the door. This bloated structure drives up costs and provides no benefit to the client.

Having said that, it is undeniable that traditional law firms do many things right. Given that fact, we sought to build upon the successes that we experienced while working at our respective previous firms. The first and foremost job of an attorney is to zealously represent the interests of their client, and that takes knowledge and expertise – something that old, long-established firms certainly possess. P&F’s partners were trained at some of the largest firms in Western New York, and have built upon that knowledge to create a base of expertise ready to handle any challenges our clients may have. Our deep roots to the legal community also gives us an invaluable network to draw upon – such as our collaborations with a retired New York State Supreme Court justice in an “of counsel” capacity. Even while expanding our knowledge, we are always looking to put the client first – which is why we believe that training new lawyers should be done on our time, not the client’s dime.

Fees

Of all the headaches that legal clients face, the uncertain cost of legal services stands as the most persistent - and most damaging. Too often, traditional law firms will nickel and dime their clients, offering only vague cost projections and complicated rate structures. At the end of a project, clients are hit with a bloated bill full of unexpected fees. The law firm will come out on top, but their clients end up feeling taken advantage of. This happens because some law firms reward their attorneys for dragging projects on with unnecessary work - and clients are the ones who foot the bill. The standard for legal services is the "billable hour", where clients pay for an attorney's time - but time doesn't necessarily provide any value to a client. In any other industry, this model would be unacceptable.

At Pullano & Farrow, we took our cues from outside of the law firm bubble. Instead of focusing on time, we focus on results. To us, fair and transparent pricing is much more important than squeezing every penny out of a client. From the beginning, our partners recognized that the basis of a successful legal representation is a positive relationship. This is why 90% of our clients end up using us for multiple matters - because they know they aren't just buying our time - they are hiring us to solve their legal issues.

In the interest of straightforward, transparent pricing, we strive to offer alternative & flat fee billing arrangements wherever possible, and in every area of law in which we practice. These arrangements provide spelled-out, predictable costs, allowing businesses to budget more effectively, and providing peace of mind in otherwise-stressful situations. Even in circumstances where billing by the hour is appropriate or necessary, we always strive to give accurate estimates, and make sure our clients understand the process and reasoning behind our costs. This model provides yet another incentive for us to be efficient - & we pride ourselves on offering consistently high-quality legal services through practice and dedication.

The Ampersand in our logo is there for a reason, it is the credo we live by.  Our clients require more than simple legal guidance, they require business acumen and experience - & we provide that.  Our clients require more than an interpretation of a new statute or regulation but recommendations on practical implementation - & we provide that.  Our clients require more than an email going unanswered or a phone’s voicemail but face to face interaction to address pressing problems - & we provide that.  Most importantly, our clients require more than a law firm that ultimately becomes an added business expense and drain on corporate resources.  Our clients require and want a business partner that will help navigate them through simple and complex legal issues without over billing them for the counsel provided - & we provide that!
